The cottage is situated at the western end of the village and overlooking the farmland of More House Farm to the front, close to countryside which is interspersed with footpaths and bridleways linking with both Chailey and Ditchling Common Nature Reserves and the neighbouring districts. All village facilities are within a short walk including Baldocks Garage (approximately 200 yards) where there is a convenience store. The heart of the village is just over half a mile distant where there is a general store/delicatessen, a pub/restaurant and the highly regarded primary school. The village green has a large hall and hosts several events throughout the year and there are 3 churches including the ancient church in the Old Parish of Wivelsfield to the west.
Children from Wivelsfield Green fall into the catchment area for Chailey Secondary School in nearby South Chailey, for which there is a school bus.
The village is approximately 3 miles to the south east of Haywards Heath and approximately 3 miles north east of Burgess Hill, where there are extensive shopping and recreational facilities and mainline railway stations. A faster commuter service to London (Victoria/London Bridge 47 mins), Gatwick Airport (15 mins) and the south coast (Brighton 20 mins) can be gained from Haywards Heath.
A regular bus service runs through the village linking with the neighbouring districts and vehicular access to the surrounding areas can be gained via the B2112, the A272 and the A/M23, the latter lying approximately 7.5 miles to the west at Bolney or Warninglid.
