Is Horley a nice place to live?

Horley has all the atmosphere of a friendly town but with the world at its doorstep, with Gatwick Airport close by and fantastic transport links. From London-dwellers keen to get more for their money, to families looking for rural living close to schools, to retirees, Horley has it all.

Both London and cosmopolitan Brighton are easily accessible by train from the town’s mainline station, while the Gatwick Express provides the easy way to jet off. The market town of Reigate is nearby, as are commuter lines from Redhill.

Horley is surrounded by beautiful open fields and horse chestnut trees (conkers anyone?), offering The Good Life, with a Waitrose in town if self-sufficiency isn’t your thing. There are also plenty of fantastic cafes, pubs and restaurants to choose from, with well-known franchises, independent eateries, and cosy pubs. In fact, Ye Olde Six Bells Pub on Church Road claims to be one of the oldest pubs in England, and dates back to 1450.

Quiet residential roads are lined with stunning period properties while a little further out you can get more space for your money in pretty villages including Charlwood, Smallfield, and Newdigate.

Further afield, wine connoisseurs will love Denbies Wine Estates in Dorking, while the thrill of a flutter can be found at Lingfield Race Course. The British Wildlife Centre, Go Ape Tree Top Adventures, Bluebell Railway and Sheffield Park are ideal for active families and just a short journey away.
