Welcome to Crowborough
Crowborough is a traditional market town nestled at the edge of the Ashdown Forest in the High Weald area of outstanding natural beauty.
This historic and popular town is situated at the second highest point in East Sussex, and grew from the merging of a number of villages and hamlets. Formerly home to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a statue within the town celebrates its most famous literary resident.
Proximity to beautiful Ashdown Forest with its 6500 acres of protected ancient heath and woodland is a distinct plus to settling in this area. The forest was of course A.A. Milnes inspiration for his universally-loved Winnie the Pooh books.
Crowborough offers ample opportunities for well-spent downtime with its comprehensive shopping and leisure facilities. Eclectic Royal Tunbridge Wells, with its excellent shops, restaurants, theatre and railway station with fast services to the capital, is around seven miles to the north.
Crowborough's railway station offers services to London that take little over an hour, while Gatwick Airport is just a 40-minute drive away.
