East Grinstead is a town packed full of character. Situated in the north-eastern corner of West Sussex and half way between London and the south coast on the Greenwich Meridian (yes the Line runs through the Town Council building!), its a great place for families to settle, thanks to the good schools, as well as the ideal location for commuters as its also perfectly placed for swift travel to London and Gatwick.
The historic old High Street with its half-timbered buildings will take you back through 800 years of Sussex heritage, and the quirky independent shops and coffee shops are perfect for a lazy day.
Surrounded by the lush greenery of the Sussex countryside, the town is close to pretty villages including Crawley Down, West Hoathly, and Sharpthorne.
Theres some fantastic places to explore around East Grinstead – the National Trusts Standen House & Gardens or Deers Leap Park are the perfect place for a sunny Sunday stroll, while the Bluebell Railway with its historic steam trains allows you and the kids to step back to a gentler time.
